“The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.”
- Dorthea Lange
Photography has intrigued me for as far back as I can remember. A few years after college I went to Brazil and taught visual storytelling to kids from local favelas. Some time later while I was completing my doctorate in education, I wove a photographic component into my dissertation theory and research.
I make photos for the fascination with the medium, and because of my strong interest in the stories of places and people. To continue to grow my skills I have taken workshops with Maggie Steber and Harvey Stein, and completed courses with Andrew Shapiro at the Austin School of Photography.
